STAR FASHION AT THE VMAs

Once per year, MTV hosts their legendary VMA awards, where the rich and famous glam out in extravagant gowns and flashy suits. Celebrities show off their own personal style, which can be beautiful… or disastrous.

The 2017 VMA showcase was no exception.

Lorde wore a stunning strapless purple dress adorned with feathers from the waist down. The dress was an original by Monique Lhuillier, a Filipino fashion designer known for her bridal wear. This dress was a far cry from Lorde’s usual attire, drifting from punk rock to sophisticated and elegant.

Millie Bobby Brown, the universally adored child star from Stranger Things, slayed the carpet with a short, long sleeve dress. The dress was a Rodarte get-up in patterned with studs. She rocked a pair of slick black boots to wrap up the look.

Katy Perry, this year’s host of the VMAs, had several looks throughout the evening. Her first outfit, created by French designer Stephane Rolland, was a pure and elegant ultra-white bodycon gown. As the award show progressed, Perry changed into clothing more akin to what fans are used to seeing, including an astronaut suit and a full costume of Daenerys Targaryen from “Game of Thrones.”

Pink and her daughter, Willow Hard, sported matching menswear-inspired suits, proving that they can be beautiful wearing anything they please. Later on in the night, Pink gave a heartwarming speech dedicated to her daughter and all of the artists who have and continue to dare to be themselves.

At the end of the night, Kesha stole the show with her appearance. She was glowing in a rosy ruffled dress that rolled to the floor. Draped over her shoulders was sheik flowing fabric, tied together with black ribbons. Her radiant glow is what pulled the entire outfit together.

The artists at this year’s VMAs killed it both on the red carpet and on the stage. If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favor, grab some popcorn, and get ready to fall in love with all of the outfits from the star-spangled night!
